A Beginners Guide to Cycling in London (By a Beginner)

Get a Good Position

Use cycle lanes but try to avoid cycling on pavements.

The gutter is not the best place to ride. You should try to leave some space between the curb and where you ride. The gutter has drains and man hole covers - both of which are not the best to ride over. The same goes for road markings which are often in the gutter.

The last thing you want to do is hit your left pedal against the curb because your riding too close. That could send you tumbling across the road.
