A Beginners Guide to Cycling in London (By a Beginner)

Watch the left turns (oh and the right ones!)

If you are on the left-hand side of the road (by the left curb) at a traffic lights for example, beware of the vehicle turning left. Quite often they haven't checked their left hand wing mirror and you could easily come a cropper by riding into them. This you want to avoid if possible.

Take care when turning corners even if it seems safe.

Turning right is said to be one of the biggest causes of accidents in the UK. When turning right you will need to check over your right shoulder and using clear signalling in order to move over to the right hand side of the road. It's not quite as simple as that but as I said I'm not an expert.
