Boards of Canada are Michael Sanderson and Marcus Eoin.

This Scottish duo apparently live on a hippy commune just outside Edinburgh and take their music making pretty seriously. Both their debut album Music has the Right to Children and the more recent Geogaddi are highly polished blends of mellow synth sounds, crisp drum patters and children's voices amongst other things.

I can't really do them justice but they are the best act on Warp Records by miles and miles (and yes that includes Aphex Twin). It took them four years to complete their second album but I guess they decided it had to be perfect and it will take as long as it takes.

Anyone who has listened to Radioheads KID-A album may notice the first track "Everything in Its Right Place" bears more than a passing resemblance to BOC. In fact its probably one of the worst copycat rip-offs I've ever heard. Radiohead continue to attract critical and popular acclaim where as our Scottish bleepologists can only rely on the former.

They are often used as background music on TV. Most noticeably on a recent BMW commercial with the car at the bottom of the swimming pool.

If you only check out one of the artists I have mentioned on this site it should be these guys.
