Mark Bell

Mark Bell with one of those Sony dog things.

Not heard of him? Well you may have heard his work at some stage. In the early 90s he was one half of LFO, a duo which produced the seminal Frequencies album, spawning a top ten hit "LFO". Bell and his LFO other musical half Gez Varley then went their separate ways for several years leaving Bell to concentrate on his solo projects most notably under his
Speed Jack
and Clark alter egos. LFO were reunited in 1996 to release a long awaited second album Advance.

Bell's own career went from strength to strength after this. Bjork, recognising his outstanding production skills, recruited him to produce her Homogenic and Selma Songs albums. He also produced Depeche Mode's Exciter album.

In 2003 Bell returned with the third LFO album (this time without Varley) Sheath which included the stomping single Freak. He is one of the best techno producers of his generation in my opinion.
