Steve Davis sits in for Jarvis Cocker’s Sunday Service

Reading Time: < 1 minute

It seemed somewhat unlikely to some but Steve Davis of snookerball fame, recently stood in for Jarvis Cocker on his BBC 6Music radio show while he was away pretending to front the Pulp music band.

I listened in out of curiosity but I found that much of the stuff he played despite being within the prog sphere was still rather good. It did help that he played Max Tundra’s ‘Until we die‘ one of my favourites and certainly not something I expected to hear on the BBC.

Amongst the other tracks I liked were opener from Diagonal, HMS Washout by Knifeworld and Berliner Luft from North Sea Radio Orchestra. I found his Monday night radio show on Phoenix FM which I think might also be of interest in the not too distant future. The show was great and so I’ve preserved this on Mixcloud for eternity.
