Swim Serpentine 2017

I decided to have another go at Swim Serpentine having stunk the place out the year in 2016.

Last year my daughter basically didn’t sleep between July and September which meant neither did I. I had minimal training and really struggled to swim even a mile.

This time things were much better on the sleep front and I’d even managed to do a bit of training.

It was a very cold day and the water temperature was very chilly so I felt pretty cold throughout. I really enjoyed myself towards the end because I wasn’t feeling awful like last year.

I finished with a time of 43:15 not quick by my standards but given the lack of training I’d had over the last year I’m quite happy with it.

You can see from these finishing videos how shaky my legs are. I raised a few quid for Vetlife in the process of all this which made me happy too.
